No matter your financial situation, you have two more options than abortion: parenting with financial assistance and adoption, which comes with built-in support through an adoption agency.
Parenting with Support
Parenting may be possible with the right support. Lilli Women’s Center can connect you with state programs and resources to help you through pregnancy and beyond.
We can help you apply to Ohio Medicaid, a state-sponsored health insurance program that covers pregnant women throughout pregnancy and for a full year after delivery. Additionally, we’ll provide information on related programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, to help with nutritional needs.
Lilli Women’s Center also offers support through classes covering parenting, job readiness, budgeting, and other helpful topics. Moms and dads can also receive mentoring services and join support groups, and find support through our extensive network of area-wide social service agencies and programs.
We also provide baby items such as diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, car seats, and other essentials.
Placing Your Child for Adoption
For women who do not think parenting is an option for any number of reasons, exploring adoption could make sense.
Adoption involves transferring your parental rights to another couple of your choice who have been through rigorous background checks. You get to choose the adoption plan, how much contact and privacy you would like, and the adoptive family.
While you do carry your pregnancy to term for this option, it provides a bright future and opportunities for your child.
This option is affordable, as the adoptive family covers all adoption expenses, legal fees, and pregnancy-related medical expenses through an adoption agency.
